Architecture in the area we call "The Valley" isn't as impressive as the metropolises of the United States or the European cities with ancient standing stuctures, still there is some beauty in our humble cities. Below are some residental homes from my very own to others around my city including some other buildings.

Here is my humble home. Complete with kitchen, living room with dining area, 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. Not too bad for just me and my mother. Here you can see a basic house youll find here in the valley. Many of the houses around my neighborhood have the same style house, maybe with different colors but usually always the same "basic" look to it. My house is made of bricks and of course very sealed shut. The roof has to reflect the heat and so do the walls. The heat in the valley along with the humidity is almost unbearable to most of us.

Here is a house very near my own. Even though most houses are like mine in style there are always the ones which stick out. This is one of them. The style they formed their lawn is just eye catching and you can't help but take a quick glimpse. Again made from brick.

Here is a house much farther up north in my city. You can see the house is white and so are lots of the ones in this neighborhood. The points you see in front of the house almost give it a gothic look but of course still doesnt hit it quite. Again another brick house.

Another house from the same neighborhood. I picked this one because these individuals really made their house stick out from the rest by their choice in color. their more "brick-like" colored house stood out because all the others were either white or a shade of gray. Again still they have the same style, the points in the roof with rounded large windows. again more bricks.

Now here is where we go to the area with the people with more money. Their style goes well with the area and history. They have a more "traditional" look with their "adobe" look-a-like house. Still the house has a kind of beauty to it and you can see the material changed. I guess with the money, you start going away from the good old basic brick.

Here is a house I personally liked in the neighborhood. Their lawn had a fountain and a front doorwhich looked much like an important building. It makes me think of like the alamo or some important church building, like a misson of some sort. Many other buildings in the area had a similar look but this one really hit the spot compared to the others.

Here is a building that I have history with. It's the elementary school I attended, The Jackson Elementary School. The school had a very similar look to the houses that were close to it. The bricks are always a nice way to make the buildings here since they are so readily available and great for the enviroment the valley is known for.

Last here is a church that is near my house. Again it still retains that similar look with the same material and roof. Driving all around the Valley you will always find buildings like these. I specifically chose this church because its the only one I remember from when I was a child. I remember driving by it and seeing it's playground and always wanting to play in it but never had the chance to. Today it still stands and works as a school also. It retains the look that the area has always held in my eyes.

In the end you can see that the valley has similar but different styles when it comes to houses. But the one that you will almost always find is the one my house retains, the school, and church has. I always pointed out the bricks because its exactly what we have always had and still its a great material to work with, being residental or public buildings.
